Introduction

OpenFrag is a medieval fps. It features two races and is focussed on multiplayer. Basically it will be Oblivion meets Quake Wars. The art can be found this repository. For the time being we'll mainly focus on gameplay and playability. In the future, if all is going well, we'll look into a more detailed background story.

0.6 game design

Goal

The goal of this release is to make a demo which contains all fundamental functionality for OpenFrag, like:

  • Physics
    • Simple crude physics, quake 3 style
  • Networking
    • As being developed by Xor
  • Sky system
    • Use Caelum library
  • Water system
    • Use Hydrax library
  • GUI
  • Particle System
    • Particle Universe
  • Simple combat
  • Paged Geometry


This will be a major milestone, proving we can create what it takes to make the actual game. This will be used to attract more experienced artists and programmers to OpenFrag.

  • Dark medieval, 1000-1500 after Christ.

Gamemodes

Free Roam

In this mode you can just walk through the map on your own, no opponents or whatsoever.

Multiplayer

  • Deathmatch

Just your regular deathmatch, everyone on his own.

  • Team Deathmatch

A team will fight against another team.
